Things To Do in the Bronx

We all know that Manhattan is the most popular area to tour in New York City. However, even though often overlooked, the Bronx has a lot to offer as well. There are many things to see and do including historical attractions, outdoor activities, art and much more!

Yankee Stadium

Watching a game in this well-known stadium is a great experience. Whether you go see a Yankee game or a NYCFC soccer match, it is definitely a must see for any sports fan sightseeing NYC! It is also possible to take a tour around the stadium and learn something about the history of baseball. This is stop #3 on our Bronx Tour!

Bronx Zoo

The Bronx Zoo is one of the world’s most famous zoos and also the largest metropolitan zoo in the world! It is a home to more than 6000 animals representing over 650 species from around the globe. Our advice: wear comfortable shoes and explore ALL the indoor and outdoor exhibits.

Malcolm Shabazz Harlem Market

Why not Hop-Off at Bronx bus tour stop #2! This market is full of fabulous and authentic traditional African goods. Crafts, cloths, drums and jewelry can be found there. It is also a great place to get your hair braided!

New York Botanical Garden

This botanical garden is also a National Historic Landmark. Founded in 1891, it offers live displays in 50 gardens plus some special exhibits during the year. It also features some of the oldest trees in the city! This is the perfect time to visit with The Orchid Show on display thru April 17th and it being the NYBG’s 125th anniversary this year!

Grant’s Tomb

The first stop on our Bronx tour is Grant’s Tomb, home of the late President Ulysses S. Grant and his wife Julia. Did you know… it’s the largest mausoleum in North America! Just to note: The General Grant National Memorial is only open Wednesday thru Sunday.

Museums

There are a few great museums in the Bronx to discover. Visit the Bronx Museum of the Arts which is a small but valuable New York City art venue or the City Island Nautical Museum that shows the history of maritime. Keep in mind that the City Island Nautical Museum is open only during weekends.

These are just some of the many sights you can see while visiting the Bronx. Gray Line New York gives you a great opportunity to explore the Bronx with our Hop-On, Hop-Off Bronx Bus Tour. Experience it for yourself on your next visit!
