There’s so much to do in October to celebrate the spookiest holiday of the year, Halloween! The pumpkins, parades, hayrides and more!!! These are our top things to do during the Halloween season in NYC!

New York Botanical Garden: Scarecrows and Pumpkins

The New York Botanical Garden is a great place to celebrate Halloween with the family! Until October 30th, NYBG has their Scarecrows & Pumpkins displays and events going on! You can walk through the gardens and find the many different scarecrows on display! If you are more of a night person, visit NYBG and experience Scarecrows: From Heartland to Horror. Love pumpkins? Well, why not take your children to the Pumpkins: Playful & Plentiful and Giant Pumpkin Weekend & Meet the Growers events. NYBG has so many fun and interactive activities to enjoy in the Bronx

Central Park, just off of our Uptown Tour, is definitely the place to be right before Halloween! On October 30th, is the Central Park Conservancy Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Flotilla event! You not only see the floating pumpkins but this year there will be a live “Bat Encounter”! Other activities will include spooky stories, live music, pumpkin carving, costume parade and Halloween crafts.

Village Halloween Parade

The Village Halloween Parade is the “IT” NYC parade to go to! Whether you are part of the parade in costume or a spectator, this is the ultimate way to spend your Halloween. The parade will be held on October 31st starting at 7pm on 6th Avenue between Spring St to 16th St. Every year, the parade has a theme and this year's is… Reverie! They want participants to recreate costumes based on their waking dreams and fantasies. The parade was created in Greenwich Village 1974 by mask maker and puppeteer Ralph Lee, as a way to engage families in the neighborhood. This parade is truly a Halloween spectacle to see!
