Touring a city under the light of the sun is only half the fun – especially when it comes to New York!
New York isn’t called “The City That Never Sleeps” for no reason. While some cities close their attractions early on, leaving you twiddling your thumbs trying to come up with evening plans, New York accommodates the night owls.
Whether you want to settle in somewhere nice for dinner or just grab a bite, your options are endless! From Chinatown to Little Italy, there is authentic food from just about every nation – all in on city! Little Italy is my personal favorite because you can just imagine that you are traipsing down the streets of Florence!
The observatory deck at the Empire State Building is open until 2am, giving a wonderful view of the city. But do you know what’s better than that? A wonderful view of the Empire State Building!
This can be found at the Top of the Rock, which is open until 12am. I had a friend visiting from out of the country this past week, and we visited there. It was the highlight of her week! She said all of her expectations for the city were exceeded by this one view.
There are also ferry tours that continue on into the evening for unique nighttime views of the city from the water.
It’s also a great time to get some close-up shots of the Statue of Liberty. If you take a guided tour, you will get some exciting insights about New York.
If you are looking for something fun to do, but less touristy, there are of course, plenty of options.
Another MUST for visitors to New York, whether it’s your first time here or your tenth, is catching a Broadway show. The most amazing thing about Broadway is that there are deals for those that are on a budget! There are shows that are perfect for kids, and shows that are strictly adults only (and everything in between). It is a NYC experience you have to have at least once!
Comedy Clubs, such as Gotham Comedy Club, are always fun as well. Once again, there’s something for everyone! New York is where many stand-up comedians get their start, so you never know what up-and-coming acts you may come across.
No matter the season, there will always be sporting events going on. With two basketball teams, two baseball teams and two football teams (to name a few), one of those teams should pique your interest. If you’re lucky, you may even catching a Knicks vs. Nets game!
Not everyone in the group is a sports fan? Shopping is always great! Fifth Avenue, Columbus Circle, Chelsea Market, Macy’s and Times Square are just some of the places that you can get some late-night shopping in!
These are just a few options for your Night in NYC!
Remember to post your favorite shots of the city at night with #FindAReasonToGo! We love to see how our visitors are enjoying the city!
