About The One World Trade Center

The One World Trade Center is a glistening, towering beacon that has risen from the rebuilt World Trade Center site in Lower Manhattan, New York City. The tallest building in the Western Hemisphere – it’s also a signal to the world of New York’s tenacity and formidable resolve. Read on to find out why this building is more than one of the world’s best office addresses and why New York natives and visitors alike should experience the One World Trade Center.

When you visit the One World Trade Center – you’ll be aware of its significance to New York and the world. This super-tall building is built close to the site of the original World Trade Center that was destroyed in the terrorist attacks that hit New York City on September 11, 2001. It also takes its name from that building too. This new building’s final component – the spire on its roof – was installed in 2013, bringing its height to 1,776 feet. This number gives the building even more significance; since 1776 is also the year the American Declaration of Independence was signed. You can book your tickets to the One World Trade Observatory and 9/11 Memorial Museum with Gray Line New York today!

The incredible sight of the One World Trade Center, New York City.

One World Trade Center, with its iconic stature, is more than one of the world’s best office addresses; it’s also a memorable place to visit. Right at the top of the tower is the One World Observatory – a three story viewing platform, which will give you the most incredible views of New York City. You can see the whole city, from river to river from here. It’s an amazing place to visit – whether you’re a New York native or you’re visiting NYC.

When you get up there, you can rent out an Ipad guide, which we really recommend for visitors to New York. It’s very well thought out and is so absorbing as it guides you through the sights you’re looking at. The observatory has great views at any point in the day, but it’s a particularly special place to be at sunset since you’ll have an unobstructed view of the sun going down on Manhattan.

For a view of a different kind you can try the Sky Portal – but it’s not for the faint hearted. You can stand on what is essentially a large reinforced glass disk, and look down – straight down to the New York streets 100 stories below. The sensation took a little getting used to but you soon learn to put your trust in the engineering, especially when you consider the iconic skyline of remarkable construction projects. You soon come to the conclusion that this is the kind of thing that New York does so well.

The ride to the One World Observatory is just as special as the experience at the top. You’ll travel up in the Sky Pod Elevator. It might be as close to being ‘beamed up’ Star Trek style as you’ll ever get. The lift travels rather quickly, making it to the top in less than 60 seconds, so it’s a real rush. However, what’s even more impressive is that as you travel, you’ll be able to watch floor to ceiling LED technology that shows the evolution of New York City. It’s outstanding and so memorable. We guarantee that after this experience, any other elevator you travel in will be an anti-climax. There were gasps all round from our party when we first experienced it. Combine your One World Observatory & 9/11 Memorial Museum tour with a Statue of Liberty tour!
